Since its establishment, it has been building a reputation as a modern and dynamic faculty that actively connects the academic environment with the needs of companies and public organizations and contributes to the development of the entrepreneurial and innovative ecosystem in the region and throughout the country.

Thanks to its high level of teaching, extensive research activities, and intensive cooperation with industrial partners, the faculty regularly appears among the leading schools in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Its graduates find employment in the business sector, government, research organizations, and consulting firms.

Strong international orientation

FaME UTB develops partnership across the Czech Republic and abroad. In addition to long-term contacts with regional companies, it participates in projects with a European impact. One of these is participation in the Digital Europe program, specifically in the EDIH II – DIGIMAT project, which helps companies test modern digital and AI technologies before they are introduced into production.

The faculty is also involved in the Czech Management Association's Center of Excellence initiative, which supports meetings between practitioners and academics, mentoring, and the development of modern leadership.

Practice-oriented studies

The programs at FaME UTB combine theoretical knowledge with real-world projects. The offer includes bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs in economics, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, industrial engineering, and digital innovation.

Important supplementary educational activities include the Business Manager Academy and the Industrial Engineer Academy, which provide participants with practical skills in people and process management, digitalization implementation, and Industry 4.0 principles. These programs support professional development and strengthen the competitiveness of companies.

Research as a driver of innovation

FaME UTB is also an important research center. It focuses mainly on applied research related to process management, ergonomics, innovation, and digitization of production. It transfers the acquired knowledge into practice through publications, workshops, and close cooperation with companies.

Part of the faculty's mission is to emphasize sustainability and social responsibility, which permeate both teaching and research and project activities.

A place where tradition, innovation, and humanity come together

FaME UTB is now a respected player in both academic and corporate circles. It builds on the legacy of Tomáš Baťa, combining education with practical experience and implementing projects that have a positive impact on the region and the international community.

"It is a place where professionalism, innovation, and a human approach come together—values that give the faculty a clear vision for the future," says Prof. David Tuček, Dean Emeritus and current Vice Dean for Strategic Development.

His many years of work in the fields of education, science, and management have significantly shaped the direction of the faculty. Professor Tuček is the author of more than 130 scientific publications and the guarantor of a number of educational and research projects. He is valued for his ability to effectively combine theory with practice and motivate students and colleagues.

In his free time, he enjoys sports and, above all, flying, which for him symbolizes perspective and balance. As he himself says, when looking from above, he can see the bigger picture better—and he applies this approach to managing people and projects. His family is his support: he and his wife are raising two daughters and a son and guiding them to do everything with their hearts.
